OWNER/BUILDER DESCRIPTION:
I did alot of different things to it, but I did design and execute similar to what GM special projects would have come up with in 1982. I stayed consistent with the heritage of the racing Corvettes of the past. To me the most amazing racing Stingrays from 1963- were white with wood steering wheel. 1963 Grand Sport being the exception. I felt that a 1982 "Stingray" needed to be white with wood wheel.
Here is the quick and dirty on the build specifications:
Matching numbers 350 stroked to 383 C.I., converted to LT-1 style 4 bolt mains with forged internals and AFR aluminum heads, Hooker 2224 sidemount exhaust system. 440HP. Chevy would have loved delivering this!
1977 TH-400 automatic with heavy duty sprags and clutches and Hughes 2500 rpm stall converter.
Custom-made Denny's driveshaft and half-shafts with larger yokes and 1350 U-joints throughout
Dana rear with (thick wall) ring and pinion gears
1982 CE ( COLLECTOR EDITION ) Wheels, Seats and Door panels. All custom sewn and color matched to 1977 color code 67 (smoke gray)
1977 L-82 dash and instrumentation. includes 160 MPH speedo, ( NO 85MPH! ) and 6500 rpm tach
Original 1977 Corvette AM-FM stereo radio that works great and gives the console a 'believable' factory concept look
Correct 1970 GM classic white paint. Dupont color code WA-972 with L-88 hood, all 1970 emblems and 1970 LT-1 hood markings.
