HI FOLKS, WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS NO FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE.
THIS VERY ORIGINAL BEAUTY IS ONE OF THE 1969 Z11 CONVERTIBLE, INDY 500 PACE CARS. OUT OF A QUARTER MILLION CAMAROS PRODUCED IN 1969 THERE WERE ONLY 3,675 PACE CARS PRODUCED.
THIS SUPER COLLECTOR IS A NUMBERS MATCHING DRIVETRAIN, 350-4BBL., MUNCIE M20 4 SPEED, POSI TRACTION 12 BOLT REAR. PER MACNEISH. IT WAS INSPECTED WHEN THE CURRENT OWNER BOUGHT IT YEARS AGO BY JERRY MACNEISH. REAL DEAL CAR... IT IS ALSO TRIPLE FACTORY DOCUMENTED INCLUDING ORIGINAL PROTECTO PLATE AND ACTUAL MILEAGE TITLE.
KEEP IN MIND THAT ALL OF THESE CARS STARTED OUT AS RS/SS 1969 CAMARO CONVERTIBLES AND THEN CONVERTED BY THE FACTORY TO PACE CARS. SPECIAL PAINT, Z28 STYLE STRIPES, SPOILER OPTION, RALLY WHEELS, ORANGE HOUNDSTOOTH BUCKET SEAT INTERIOR, AND WHITE TOPS. SIDE DECALS WERE ALSO INCLUDED WHEN NEW. PACKAGED IN THE TRUNK SO YOU COULD DECIDE IF YOU WANTED TO PUT THEM ON OR NOT.
THESE WERE TOP OF THE LINE CAMAROS.
MOST PEOPLE THINK THAT THEY WERE ALL OPTIONED THE SAME WAY BUT NOT TRUE. YOU HAD A CHOICE OF 2 ENGINES, 350 OR 396 CUBIC INCHES, A CHOICE OF TRANSMISSIONS, MOST WERE AUTOMATIC. THIS ONE IS THE VERY DESIRABLE 4 SPEED! OTHER OPTIONS WERE A CONSOLE, U14 GUAGE PACKAGE, THIS ONE HAS BOTH. CLOCK WAS AN OPTION BUT THIS ONE WAS ORDERED WITHOUT THAT.. FACTORY TACH IS PRESENT AND ALSO DESIREABLE WITH A 4 SPEED. THERE ARE MORE OPTIONS I'M SURE BUT THESE WERE THE MAJOR ONES.
PREVIOUS REPORT ON THIS CAR:
According to the Mac Neish report the car is completely original and numbers matching down to the hound's tooth interior (see photo of report) Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, and stock 041 cylinder heads.
The only changes/improvements the current owner has performed were to re-stuff the driver's seat, add all new rubber weather stripping, new water pump, hoses, radiator, (4) new 215 x 70R x 14 radial tires (with less than 300 miles), and boot for the top.
All the body panels, floors, fenders, hood, trunk lid, and door skins are original. It is not known if the car was ever repainted, but the finish is very good.No bubbling or rust coming through.Chrome is original and shows some scratches on the rear bumper.
Power options include; power steering, power brakes (disc front, drum rear), power top, AM/FM radio (works), and rally package. (temperature gauge does not work so an after-market unit was installed primarily for accuracy). No overheating issues.
The 350 c.i. / 300 h.p. engine, Muncie wide ratio 4-speed transmission, and rear 12-bolt 3.55:1 posi-differential are all stock and have not been rebuilt. No leaks are present.
The only minor issues which need addressing are the driver's rear quarter window needs adjustment and 'whiskers' need to be replaced; and vacuum doors on headlights apparently have a leak in the line or cannister and need attention, open manually.
This Camaro is a pleasure to drive and draws a crowd at every show.
IF THIS CAR GOES TO A DEALER THEY WILL DETAIL IT BOTTOM AND TOP, AND PUT IT UP FOR SALE FOR $79,900.00.
GRAB THIS RARE OPPORTUNITY TO INVEST RIGHT. THESE Z11'S ARE NOT A DIME A DOZEN AND NEVER WILL BE. THANKS FOR LOOKING, AND SPEAKING OF THAT, THE OWNER IS A GREAT CAR GUY BUT NOT SO MUCH WITH A CAMERA! DON'T MISS THE LITTLE VIDEO.
IN PERSON INSPECTIONS BY SERIOUS BUYERS ARE WELCOMED. ALSO INSPECTION COMPANIES ARE WELCOME TOO. CAR IS LOCATED IN MARYLAND. ALL INFO AND CLAIMS ARE PROVIDED BY THE OWNER, FACTORY DOCUMENTATION, PROFESSIONAL INSPECTION, AND THE INTERNET.
